A System to create a Merchant Advantage

Merchandise is a very strategic part of any business that sells products, or services bundled with products. I’ve put a lot of thought into this, and the nearest I can figure somewhere around 100% of sales and profit comes directly from the sale of merchandise and services.

On top of that little fact, did you know the number one reason people do business with any company? It’s to buy something they sell.
And, the number one reason a customer returns to your business is because they either saw or learned about something they wanted to buy in their most recent experience with you.

Merchant Advantage is an online and in person program designed to give your small business a Merchant Advantage.

In the Merchant Advantage program you will develop and propose a seasonal merchandise plan for your company. In a follow-up process this preliminary plan is then presented to your entire company for feedback and involvement. A tentative Seasonal Merchandise Action Plan (SMAP) is then developed for implementation.

The Merchant Advantage program is presented in either a small group setting with five to seven companies with up to six attendees permitted from each company, or in-house which is especially suited to larger and multiple location companies where greater involvement is needed.

Merchant Advantage is ideally scheduled in the summer while spring results are fresh in the minds of attendees through the fall, offering plenty of time for analysis, planning, and implementation for the upcoming year. However, if you didn’t do it then there is no time like the present as the greatest yield from applying what you learn is in the peak season of your business when you can have the greatest impact on your profitability.
